The Gateshead East Community Treatment Team helps adults with serious mental health difficulties.

The team includes different healthcare staff, such as:

  • Doctors
  • Nurses
  • Occupational therapists
  • Psychologists
  • Support workers
  • Peer support workers (people with lived experience of mental health difficulties)

The team works with people to:

  • Improve their mental health and wellbeing
  • Support recovery
  • Help them become more independent
  • Return to everyday activities

Appointments may take place at different locations, including:

  • Dryden Road Clinic
  • Grassbanks Health Centre

Who can use the service?

The service is for adults aged 18 to 65 who have serious mental health difficulties and need specialist assessment and treatment.

How can I get referred?

You can be referred by your Care Co-ordinator, GP, Primary Care Mental Health Team, Local Authority or Specialist Mental Health Service.
