Frequently asked questions

How often will I be seen by the therapy team?

This depends on many things, and will be discussed and agreed between you and your therapist at your first appointment, or following a full assessment.

This takes into account:

  • your availability and work or other commitments such as childcare
  • the length of time since your injury or diagnosis
  • the nature of your neurological condition
  • the goals you are wanting to achieve

Goals will be agreed with your therapist and must be Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time- bound (SMART).

We are a regional service and support neurological patients from a large geographical area.

We are unable to provide daily input, and maximal input may be limited to one session a week.

How long will I be seen by the therapy team?

This depends on the goals agreed with your therapist, and the progress of your recovery.

Your therapist will track your progress. We will be open and honest with you about how much progress you are making.

We are unable to provide long term therapy and will always promote self-management. For example, you may be seen for six weeks and then discharged to self-manage. You will have the option to access the service in the future should your needs change.
