Woodhorn Ward – Inpatient Dementia Service (St George’s Park, Morpeth) – CNTW160
Woodhorn is an inpatient unit based at St George’s Park in Morpeth. Woodhorn has 14 beds providing assessment and treatment by a multi disciplinary health and social care team. They will support you with a range of different treatments and therapies. The team involved in your care could include:
- Podiatrists
- Occupational Therapists
- Pharmacists
- Physiotherapists
- Arts Therapists
- Psychologists
- Speech and Language Therapists
- Social Workers
Who is Woodhorn for?
Woodhorn is for older people with mental health problems arising from organic disorders such as dementia.
John’s Campaign – Information for carers
Carers matter to people living with dementia, confusion or other complex needs, who find it hard to cope in unfamiliar situations.
If you are a carer you have a right to continue your support (if you and they wish) whenever they’re away from home. A stay in hospital can be especially challenging and your involvement may be crucial.

How can I get referred?
You can be referred by your Care Co-ordinator, GP, Primary Care Mental Health Team and Specialist Mental Health Service.
