Chaplaincy Team

The assessment of spiritual needs is integral to providing holistic care and treatment. Chaplains are available to assist clinical colleagues with advice, information and training. They also provide pastoral and spiritual care to individual users, carers and staff as well as opportunities for group religious services. There are designated sacred spaces (chapels/faith centres) accessible for both individual and group use on most in-patient sites of the Trust.

Chaplains and chapels are available for people of all faiths or none. The Trustwide Chaplaincy Team has considerable experience of mental health care and is staffed by representatives from a wide spectrum of faith traditions, and also has humanists on the team. The team works with diverse faith leaders and representatives in the community. Locality based chaplains have access to the resources of the wider team as and when required.

Core hours are Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, but 24-hour on-call exists for emergencies.
