A North East healthcare worker is representing the region at a national awards ceremony.
Donna Finnigan, Assistant Practitioner for the Learning Disabilities Community Treatment Team which is part of Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (NTW), a provider of mental health and disability services is being recognised for her hard work and commitment at the Skills for Health #Our Health Heroes awards.
I feel quite humble about being nominated. It’s lovely to know that the work that we do is being recognised. The Assistant Practitioner role is new to the Trust and I would love to bring back the award for the whole team

She has been working for the Trust for 23 years and is described by her colleagues as an invaluable team member, mentor and role model. Kind hearted, compassionate, client centred, open, honest, transparent, committed and motivated are all words that her colleagues use to describe her.
Now in its third year, the Health Heroes Awards recognise all our healthcare heroes. Donna was the regional winner of the Clinical Support Worker of the Year award and is now representing the region in the public vote for the national award. This category recognises the crucial role that clinical support workers play in the day to day delivery of patient care.
The awards are taking place at the OXO2 in London on Friday 23 November. If you would like Donna to win Clinical Support Worker of the year, please click on the link to vote for her.
