North East NHS staff are being recognised for their commitment to young people in our region.

Staff from Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (NTW), a provider of mental health and disability services, are the only NHS Trust in the North East to have been acknowledged in the Northumberland and Tyneside heat of this year’s North East Business Awards.

NTW Academy have been shortlisted in the apprenticeship category which is sponsored by Newcastle College. This award recognises businesses that have an apprentice scheme that is an integral part of developing their workforce and provides opportunities for young people in our area.

We are honoured to be shortlisted for this award and be recognised for our work with our apprentice programme.  Here at NTW we have a strategic commitment to recruitment, progression opportunities as well as opportunities for promotion and ambassadorial work

As part of the process, judges have looked for examples of how the apprentices help develop the workforce and showcase the benefits that they can bring to our Trust. They will be looking for businesses that are working on promoting the use of apprentices in their workplace.

The awards will take place on Thursday 28 February at the Grand Hotel Gosforth Park.
