Foundation training
We have 33 foundation placements and hope to expand these in the coming years.
Placements that we offer in the trust range from core psychiatry, inpatient, community psychiatry, old age, eating disorders, liaison psychiatry, neuropsychiatry, rehabilitation psychiatry and many more.
On calls:
FY1: None of the Foundation Year 1 posts have any on-call commitments in psychiatry. The acute on-call commitments differ depending on the acute trust arrangements and please refer to individual job descriptions for more information.
FY2: All Foundation Year 2 placements join an established first-on-call system with other core psychiatric trainees. There are close supervision arrangements in place from seniors with positive feedback from trainees. There are special induction arrangements for trainees who are joining the rota system new to psychiatry to support the transition.

Foundation Taster in Psychiatry
We can offer taster sessions for up to five days. They are bespoke, constructed according to your interests and requirements, and are available in a wide variety of specialities and sub-specialities.
