Great North Run 2024

Nine runners are taking on the annual half-marathon to raise funds for SHINE.

9 determined runners are taking on the famous half-marathon this year to raise funds for SHINE! Money raised will go towards improving the experience and wellbeing of patients receiving care in our Trust’s mental health, learning disability and neurological care services. You can see recent projects the charity has funded here: Projects – CNTW NHS Charity

Joanne Wallace, a doctor in the Trust’s Children and Young People’s services, is one of the runners taking part this year. “Working in CNTW as a doctor and then also supporting my own family members that have needed mental health support from CNTW I have seen first-hand the excellent work CNTW do in providing excellent mental healthcare in the North East.”

“Raising money for the SHINE fund is my opportunity to say thank you and give back to this excellent cause.”

I have seen the difference the SHINE fund makes in our hospitals and I couldn’t be prouder to be running for them!

Catherine is hoping to make her children Dylan and Caitlin proud this year, “we’re from South Shields and watch the race each year, but this time Mammy will be running it!”

Help our runners’ fundraising go further for our patients by becoming a sponsor! Every contribution is valued, and even a £2 donation can make a significant impact. Thank you for your generosity!
