Family and Friends Hub
Do you provide care and support for someone aged 14 or over with their mental health?
If so, please pop in for a chat and see if our Caring for Carers Programme is for you.
We have a detailed breakdown of the dates and topics of each session available in the hub, there is no need to book.
What we do
The hubs will provide families/friends with a safe relaxed space for you to feel understood, listened to and supported. Each week we will be offering a session to support you in your caring role. This will include building on existing skills to help you improve interactions with the person you care for, support to deal with challenging circumstances and information about services available to you and how to access them.

Carer feedback
Carlisle
This has helped me over the weeks to understand how the mind of the person I care for works and how he may see things. It’s made me more patient and accepting of the fact that he will likely live with his diagnosis for the rest of his life, but also how it can be managed and how there will be good days. It gives hope and also a sense of ‘You’re not alone’ and others in the group understand what it feels like.
Brilliant course would highly recommend it. I have learned such a lot and have took it home, with lovely results. Showing me how to communicate effectively and see things from a different point of view.
For me, these groups have been a lifesaver. The emotional support, caring, information and help have been amazing. I would encourage anyone who is having difficulties to come to the groups. It is not all about discussing difficult topics. It can be a lot of fun and very relaxing. I look forward to going to the groups each week and meeting up with friends.

I feel more positive than I previously did about the future.
Feel lighter, less stressed, found the group uplifting.
The group has been a real lifeline. It’s given me hope for the future and the skills to help me communicate with [the person I care for] in a way I couldn’t before.
I have found the course very useful and am more able to deal with the situations that arise.
The group has given me hope and helped me think about recovery.
Don’t worry about it not being for you, it will be.
There is something to learn and help for anyone in a caring role. It gave me skills for the future.
