A Poundland store has spread a little bit of happiness to a Newcastle hospital.

Service users on the inpatient wards at St Nicholas Hospital, which is part of Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (NTW), were entered into a lucky dip draw for 25 boxes of chocolates which were kindly donated by Poundland’s Byker branch.

The draw was organised by Julie Kelly, Shop Supervisor at St Nicholas Hospital.

Julie said “It is a lovely gesture by Poundland; I was really emotional when presented with all the chocolate.  Thank you to Neil and all the staff at Poundland, the chocolates will make a huge difference to the service users on the wards.”
