I qualified from Newcastle University in 2002, then completed Post-registration House Officer posts at James Cook University Hospital. I then worked in various posts in the South Durham and Teesside Senior House Office psychiatry rotation, passing MRCPsych in 2006.
I have been on the specialist register for child and adolescent psychiatry since February 2014, following a successful CESR application.
I have an interest in law, and have completed postgraduate study at Northumbria University – LLM Mental Health Law (2010) and Postgraduate Diploma in Mental Health Law (2015).
I have worked in various child and adolescent psychiatry posts between 2006 and 2023. Most of my experience has been in the inpatient unit, although I have also worked in community posts both in CNTW and TEWV. Between July 2020 and June 2023 I was working in the South of Tyne Children and Young People’s Community Eating Disorders Service.
I started as a Consultant in the Northern Region Gender Dysphoria Service in June 2023.
