Dr Sarala Bharathi Rajaram Barathy

I am a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist and work with patients in medium secure rehabilitation service. I completed my undergraduate medical degree in India and emigrated to the UK in 2004 to pursue higher training in Psychiatry. I completed my higher training in Psychiatry and specialist training in Forensic Psychiatry in the North East of England and I have been employed as a Consultant since 2014. Apart from my role as Consultant in medium secure rehabilitation, I work as a visiting forensic psychiatrist in HMP Durham and provide Consultant cover to the South of Tyne Custody Diversion team. I have experience of working with people with enduring mental illness and in a wide range of forensic setting.
