I qualified as a psychiatrist from India where I did my MD in Psychological Medicine in 1995. I came to India after three years of higher speciality training. I have worked as a psychiatric trainee and as specialist doctor in the North of England. I started working as a Consultant Psychiatrist for Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust in 2005 and was for 11 years associated with an Adult Community Mental Health Team.

I decided to improve my competence in Child Psychiatry and do something new when I turned 50 in 2017, and since been with the present team.
