Dr Shaikh M I Haq

I graduated in 1984 from the University of Karachi and attained Membership of College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan in Psychiatry in 1988. In 1990 I successfully completed training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Institute of Psychiatry and Maudsley Hospital, and Hospital for Sick Children, London, leading to a Diploma in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry from London University. I moved to the UK in 2002 and got CCST in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in 2005. I was appointed to my current post, Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, in May 2006.

I work with the Newcastle and Gateshead Neurodevelopmental Team, providing direct clinical input as well supporting the team and providing supervision. I am also the College Trainer and supervise, both, Specialty Trainees and Core Trainees. I also supervise the Non-Medical Prescriber. I am also involved in Final Year Medical Student training.
