I am a consultant Old Age Psychiatrist in the Northumberland Psychiatric Liaison Team. I qualified from Medical School in Germany in 1998, completed my psychiatric training the North East of England and was appointed as consultant Old Age Psychiatrist in 2010. As liaison psychiatrist I work with a team of mental health nurses and doctors to serve frail older patients who need specialist psychiatric input whilst at Northumberland Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, Wansbeck General Hospital and Blyth Hospital.
My special interest lies with medical education, with an emphasis on undergraduate medical education.
I hold the posts of Course Director for Mental Health for Newcastle Medical School and Associate Medical Director for Undergraduate Medical Education for NTW NHS Foundation Trust.
I also am a trainer for Specialist Trainees in Old Age Psychiatry.
