Dr Clare Dover

I am a consultant developmental psychiatrist with experience in the assessment and treatment of individuals with intellectual disability and developmental disorders.          

I work between Ferndene (Tier 4 Inpatient service) and the Intensive Positive Behaviour Support (IPBS) team.

This involves initial assessment, formulation and ongoing management of children with intellectual disability and/or developmental disorders, who present with psychiatric disorder and/or complex behavioural problems.

My role includes diagnosis and treatment of Anxiety, ADHD, Sleep Disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder and other Neurodevelopmental Disorders.

I have a special interest in Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) and Autism Spectrum Disorders, across the ability and age range.

I have particular skills in use of diagnostic tools- Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) and ADI-R. I am a trainer in use of the ADOS and have coordinated and delivered training courses both locally and regionally. I have completed Post Graduate Diploma in Positive Behavioural Support.
