I am a full-time CNTW Trust Consultant Old Age Psychiatrist based at St George’s Park, Northumberland for community clinical work and the Campus for Ageing and Vitality, Newcastle for NHS research work.

I qualified from Trinity College Dublin and trained at Oxford and Leeds. I work into the Northumberland Older Adults Community Treatment Team and was Lead Psychiatrist in setting up the Northumberland Memory Service where I continue to work.

I am a psychiatry Specialty Trainee and Foundation Doctor trainer/ assessor. I contribute to education, training and examining with CNTW Trust, the Royal College of Psychiatrists, Health Education England North East and North Cumbria and Newcastle University Medical School. I have service leadership roles in CNTW Trust and nationally.

I am Dementia Research Lead for the North East UK NHS Clinical Research Network and the North East/ Cumbria DeNDRoN Specialty Group. I am a regional Principal Investigator for several NHS dementia research studies. My research roles include facilitating patient/ carer involvement in NHS/ international research to enable new dementia treatments, national research management and academic publication. I hold an Honorary Research Consultant role with the Newcastle upon Tyne Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
