Qualifications

I Completed medical studies in 1986 and had a number of non-training posts in addictions and community/inpatient psychiatry in the Netherlands.

From 1991 I undertook training in psychiatry in the UK (Liverpool/Newcastle).

From 1999 I worked in Darlington in a Rehabilitation and Assertive Out reach team.

From 2003 till 2014 I was consultant in the Psychiatric Intensive Care Service at St Nicholas Hospital in Newcastle.

From 2014 consultant inpatient services Tranwell unit Gateshead.
