Dr Uri Torres

I commenced specialist training in psychiatry in Newcastle in 1998 and was appointed to a consultant post in Northumberland Tyne and Wear NHS trust in 2009. Aside from my clinical role, I am the trust’s clinical lead for quality and safety and the associate medical director for Northumberland and North Tyneside Access Services. I sit on the Health Education England ( North East) Faculty of Patient Safety and I am a member of the Health Foundation Q initiative which links professionals with quality improvement experience and skills across the country. I am trained in Root Cause and Human Factors Analysis and I undertake teaching for staff focussing on these quality science methodologies, our duty of candour to patients and families and how we investigate and learn lessons following serious incidents.
