GMC No: 3549050

Qualified MbChB in 1991 from Glasgow University, and became member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 1996. Mental Health Law diploma from Northumbria University in 2001.

Trained in Glasgow, and Manchester for Senior Training, and been a consultant in this trust since 2001.

I am the sole Mental Health consultant for a national Adolescent Medium Secure unit, having responsibility for the patients admitted to the unit and day to day management of the service. The service works as a team. Clinically I have an interest in psychosis, developmental disorders and emerging personality disorders/trauma driven mental health problems.

I am also Training Programme Director for the North East for Senior trainees in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAMHS), being in charge of their individualised training programmes and their annual appraisals and managing issues around their training and posts. I also have oversight over junior trainees in CAMHS within the trust, and supervise both senior and junior trainees in their training.

I regularly carry out work for the courts in relation to criminal matters committed by children.
