I completed MBBS in 2003 from University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. Following this I pursued Post Graduate Training in Medicine for next 2 years. In 2009, I obtained Post Graduate Qualification in Psychiatry (MD in Psychiatry) from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. Thereafter, I worked as an Assistant Professor at a medical university in Nepal (B P Koirala Institute of Health Sciences) till 2012 and then at another university in Bangladesh (University of Science & Technology Chittagong) till 2015. Over next 3 years, I worked as a Specialist Psychiatrist (a position equivalent to Consultant Psychiatrist in the NHS) at a General Hospital as well as maintained an independent private practice in Chittagong, Bangladesh. During this time, I completed MRCPsych exam and obtained the membership of the Royal College in 2018. I moved to the UK in January 2019, joined Sunderland & South Tyneside Crisis Team in the role of consultant psychiatrist. In October 2022, I moved to acute in-patient service based at Hopewood Park Hospital.
