Dr Arun K Gupta

I completed my MBBS in 1979 at Lucknow University, India. Following this I completed Post Graduate Qualification with training in research (MD in Psychiatry) gain from Lucknow University in 1984. Thereafter, I worked as Specialist Psychiatrist (a position equivalent to Consultant Psychiatry in the NHS) with the Central Health Services for the Government of India in New Delhi from 1985 till 2004.

When I moved to UK to work for NHS, I obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavior Therapy(CBT) from Newcastle CBT Centre in 2006.

I have been developing a link between NHS and KG Medical University, Lucknow, India for establishing training in CBT for Multi-Disciplinary Teams.

I have served as College Tutor, Clinical Tutor and Associate Director of Medical Education between 2005 and 2011. I am now Associate Medical Director in Access and Community CBUs in the South Care Group. I take keen interest in research and teaching. I regularly attend regional, national and international conferences. I have published my papers in peer reviewed journals and authored text book chapters.

I was Medical Member of Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service – GMC from 2012 till 2019
