Community Acquired Brain Injury Service (CABIS) – Gateshead, Sunderland and South Tyneside – CNTW102b (Sunderland base)

The Community Acquired Brain Injury Service (CABIS) provides specialist community rehabilitation services for people with acquired brain, or head injury, living in Gateshead, Sunderland, and South Tyneside.

The service offers specialist multidisciplinary neurorehabilitation care to individuals and their family members / carers, addressing comprehensive needs for functional and emotional support, information and advice, practical help with vocational issues, housing, benefits, and care support needs.

The team works to facilitate discharge from local hospitals to appropriate settings for bespoke rehabilitation, as required.

How to get Referred

CABIS operate an open referral system and take referrals by letter, phone, email. Referrals are accepted from health professionals, service users, family members / friends (with service user consent). Please email: [email protected]
