Computerised Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (cCBT) – online psychological therapy

First Step also offers online therapy across North Cumbria supported by our First Step practitioners via regular review appointments.

• Flexible 24/7 access from the comfort of your home or via a smartphone
• No waiting lists, immediate access
• Easy to use
• Work through programmes to manage low mood, stress, or anxiety at your own pace
• Ask questions and receive regular feedback from a trained practitioner

To access this option, please refer yourself to First Step (or ask your GP or Practice Nurse for a referral) and during your assessment your practitioner can discuss this treatment option with you and if it is likely to be helpful they can arrange access to the system and book your first appointment with one of our online facilitators.

Our launch page provides details of all the different ways you can access First Step.

National guidelines currently recommend the use of cCBT by people with mild to moderate depression or anxiety, therefore for some people cCBT will not be appropriate and in that case we may offer one-to-one therapy.

Please see this poster and the video below for more information about Silvercloud, an online supported CBT programme.
