Bob Waddell

Governor for Non-Clinical Staff

Bob is the trust's procurement and logistics manager. He heads up the team responsible for providing most of the goods and services needed by our wards and departments on a daily basis.

He has worked for the Trust and its predecessor organisations for over 27 years, and is proud to have spent more than 39 years working in the NHS.

Bob and the Supplies Team are totally committed to what they do. They strive to ensure the right goods and services are available at the right time and the right price.

Bob uses his role as a Staff Governor to make sure that the Trust continues to provide the best possible care for the people we look after. He is also passionate about supporting our staff, who are the biggest asset that the Trust has.

Bob is professionally qualified as a Chartered Procurement and Supply Professional and was awarded a Fellowship by his Professional Body the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply in 2012. He is also is an elected member of the National Governing Congress of the Institute and also the North East Regional Co-ordinator and Council Member for the Healthcare Supply Association. In addition to this, Bob delivers specialised procurement training for the Crown Commercial Service throughout the country to NHS procurement staff on an occasional basis.

In his spare time Bob is Chairman of the Newcastle Ravens Rugby Club.
